I used to work with a guy named Jeff. One day, Jeff said to me, “I’ve got a game in which we play ‘Everybody Wins’!”

I'm like, “Well, you got my attention – what are you talking about?” He said, “You know, we don't know why we're here – as human beings, we don’t know why we’re on the planet.” I said, ‘Yeah, I know – I know that...!” And he said, “I’ve got this game, and we play it, and everybody wins.”

“OK, I give up: what is that game?”

Jeff said, “You serve people. They win by being served...and you win by serving them.”

It was brilliant! I mean, think about it. Somebody like Sean Penn goes to Haiti to help out when they had a catastrophe there. He’s Sean Penn, he’s got loads of money, he doesn’t have to do that – but he does. And when he came back, he said, “The people who volunteer, that give, that serve...they’re the ones who get the most benefit from it – the people who do those things.” And you don’t have to travel that far to do it: there are opportunities to serve. All around us...every day.

So, think about that this week. How can you help out a co-worker, or a friend, or a family member – by serving them?

See you next week!
