This guy here, who I’m about to read to you about, was an example for all of us. He was a HUGE failure.

He failed in business in 1831.

He was defeated for the legislature in 1832.

He had a second business failure in 1833.

He suffered a nervous breakdown in 1836.

He was defeated for speaker in 1838.

He was defeated for elector in 1840

He was defeated for Congress in 1843.

Wouldn't you by now think, “Stay down! Quit!”?

He was defeated for Congress in 1848.

He was defeated for a Senate seat in 1855.

He was defeated for the Vice Presidency in 1856.

He was defeated for another Senate seat in 1858.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President of the United States in 1860.

The message? Don't let defeat get the best of you. Don’t do it! Instead, let it inspire you to keep going! Because if he can do it, you can do it. Right?

Have a great day – have a great week.

See you next week!
